Mrs. Jessie L. Hardy Strong, 101, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at her residence.
She was a native and resident of Brewton. She was a devoted member of Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ella Hardy; her husband, Dennis Strong; four brothers, five sisters and one daughter, Bettye Hardy Floyd.
She is survived by three children, James Earl (Jackie) Hardy, Bobby Hardy and Dennis Hardy, all of Brewton; one son-in-law, Phillip Floyd of Theodore; 10 grandchildren, Wayne (Virginia), Wanda, Sophia, Tammy, Nicole (Carlos), Sharae, Chaka, Felecia, Derrick and Jaylon; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a host of good friends and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie J. Blue officiating.
Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
