T.R. Miller cross country team competes at Mobile Challenge

The T.R. Miller boys and girls cross country teams opened their 2009 seasons on Saturday in Mobile at the Challenge of Champions.
The girls ran in the invite race, and the boys ran in the open race.
The boys finished in ninth place out of 15 teams and the girls took fifth out of 10 teams.
For the boys, Brandon Nelson finished with a time of 18:13.29 and in sixth place and Taylor Terry took 50th place with a time of 21:08.63.
Caleb Stewart and Christian Carlson took 77th and 78th place with a time of 22:23.85 and 22:26.56 respectively.
Carter Ferezel, a seventh grader, finished in 150th place with a time of 26:27.87 and Ryan Snowden took 165th place with a time of 28:31.49.
For the girls, Karisa Nelson led all runners for the Tigers with a time of 20:13.33 and an eighth place finish followed by Katie Nelson, who finished in 13th place, with a time of 20:42.69.
Shelby Youngblood took 15th place with a time of 20:47.13 and Amber Nelson finished in 39th place with a time of 22:44.03.
Taylor Guthrie finished with a time of 25:24.85 and a 59th place finish and Amber Terry finished 62nd with a time of 25:34.54.
Abbie Carlson finished in 73rd place with a time of 31:28.21
Last season, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger cross country team posted a second place finish at the class 3A state meet to take the class 3A state runner-up trophy.
