Mr. Robert Neal Autrey, 75, died Tuesday, Sep. 22, 2009, at his residence. He was a native of Belleville, and a resident of New York before returning to Brewton. He was known by many as Buddy Man and the Handy Man. He was a member of Belleville Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Will and Carrie Mae Autrey; three siblings, Willie Mack Autrey, Benjamin Autrey and Bennie Mae Bonney.
He is survived by a companion, caretaker and friend of 44 years, Willie Pearl Lee and daughter, Mary Pearl Lee; his children, Joyce (Andrea) Autrey Allen, Regina Autrey, Reginald (Roesehelle) Autrey, all of Los Angeles, Ca.; James Autrey of Washington, D.C.; Lucille Autrey, Linda Autrey, and Wesly Autrey, all of New York; a brother, James (Betty) Autrey; five sisters, Willie Mae Cunningham of Mobile, Anna Fair of Evergreen, Minnie Johnson of Pensacola, Fla., Annie Green of Castle-berry, and Ruby L. McMillan of Nichburg; 10 grandchildren; devoted friends, Ruby Booker, Wilbur Lee and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Langley; two devoted cousins, Shirley White and Dorothy Faye Brown; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. at Belleville Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. S. C. Tucker officiating. Burial followed at Belleville Baptist Church Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
