Bruce Edward Day, wanted on charges of murder, was taken into custody Thursday night in Atmore.
Escambia County sheriff's officials had tried to arrest Day at his workplace Tuesday, but he fled and led police on a manhunt that even shut down the campus of West Florida University.
Day is wanted in connection with the murder of Woodrow "Token" Allen, who disappeared in December 2001, just weeks after Day was accused of shooting into Allen's vehicle. Day was later convicted of reckless endangerment in the shooting incident.
Allen's body was never found.
