The month of October has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  In recognition of this national event the Extension Service is sponsoring the seventh annual Purple Tea Celebration.
The Tea will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at a new location, the Escambia County Extension Auditorium, 175 Ag Science Drive in Brewton (behind Southern Pine Electric Cooperative on U.S. 31 South).
The public is invited to join the “Celebration of Survival and Awareness.” There will be special recognition of survivors of cancer and their families.
Professionals will be on hand to challenge women to “De-Stress” to share the latest nutrition information and to teach the importance of breast self-exams.
