Brewton Council of the Arts will present its next production, Marty’s El Paso, featuring Jason Petty as the late western singer, Marty Robbins on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Jefferson Davis Community College auditorium.
The last time Petty came to Brewton, he was portraying the late Hank Williams.
This latest performance focuses on the life and music of the legendary Marty Robbins, Petty re-creates the western-themed sets similar to those used on the 1960’s television show and will pay tribute not only to Robbins, but also to some of his heroes. Among Robbins’ influences were Gene Autrey, The Sons of The Pioneers and Hank Williams. Petty, an award winning actor-singer, has been amazing crowds all over the country from Broadway to Nashville, to Los Angeles and all parts in between with his hit musical tribute, “Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes.” Now he brings his talents to the newly developed “Marty’s El Paso.”
Tickets are available and will be sold at the door for $15 for adults and $8 for students.
