Brewton city council members passed a resolution Tuesday approving a request for tax abatement by officials at Georgia Pacific’s Brewton Mill.
Jason Daniel, director of public relations for the Brewton facility, said the abatement is based on the industry’s expansion of a paper machine at the facility.
Council members voted to approve the abatement in the amount of $734,530.
