Mrs. Gladys Hankins Lamons, 84, of Bradley Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, in an Andalusia nursing home after a brief illness. She was a native of Tennessee and a former resident of Tampa, Fla., before moving to Brewton. She was a member of Elim Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Paul Hicks of Brewton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m. at Elim Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold McGraw officiating. Burial followed in Elim Baptist Church Cemetery in Roberts, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
