Mr. Jackie Preston Turner, 66, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton. He was a member of North Brewton Baptist Church and was a retiree from Alabama State Troopers and the Alabama State Troopers Association for 25 years. He was a founding member of the Sepulga River Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his father, C.P. Turner, and his sister, Ruby Jean Turner Findley.
He is survived by his mother, Olline Curtis Turner of Brewton; a brother, Rex (Billie Anne) Turner of Brewton; a brother-in-law, Russell Findley of Brewton; two nieces, Michael Findley and Donna (Randy) Mancil, both of Brewton; two nephews, David (Sandy) Turner of Pensacola, Fla., and Robby Findley of Albertville; two great-nieces, Caitlin Turner and Krystal Mancil; and one great-nephew, Christian Mancil.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. John Finklea and the Rev. Doug Darby officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
