Escambia County Schools will be closed Tuesday in advance of the approaching Tropical Storm Ida, school officials said Monday.
Brewton City Schools had not made a decision as of 1:45 p.m. Monday, Superintendent Lynn Smith said.
Ida was downgraded to a tropical storm Monday morning and was expected to bring 4 to 6 inches of rain to the area, Emergency Management Director David Adams said.
