A trailer on McGougin Road was destroyed overnight when a tree fell through it during the wind and rain from Ida.
No one was at home at the time, said Reenora Byrd, whose daughter lives in the trailer. But Byrd and family members were trying to rescue belongings from the trailer Tuesday morning.
The remains of Ida were pushing through Alabama, Florida and Georgia Tuesday. Rain is expected to continue through the afternoon.
Escambia County Schools students were out Tuesday because of the storm, while Brewton City Schools students remained in class.
