Eagle boys end streak, defeat Red Level

After starting their season off with a 3-0 record and then falling in two straight at the Flomaton Thanksgiving Tournament, the W.S. Neal boys basketball team ended their slide Tuesday with a 45-42 win over Red Level at Flomaton.
The win improved the W.S. Neal Eagles to 4-2 this season.
The Eagles led 10-8 at the end of the first quarter but was outscored 17-9 in the second quarter to trail 25-19.
Red Level was about to extend their lead to 36-30 at the end of the third quarter as both teams scored 11 points in the quarter.
In the fourth, W.S. Neal outscored Red Level 15-6 to turn a six-point deficit into a three-point win.
Bob Elliott, Sam Ewing, and Jeremy Nicholson all led the Eagles in scoring with nine points followed by Rashad Crook with seven points.
T.J. Davis chipped in five points and Jeremy Alexander had four points.
Colby McCorvey added two points in the win for the Eagles.
W.S. Neal will be back in action after the Thanksgiving break Monday at home in an area game against the UMS-Wright Bulldogs.
Elliott and Ewing were named to the tournament’s all-tournament team.
