WSN B-team Eagles fall to 1-3

A 13-2 and a 16-4 scoring advantage for the UMS-Wright B-team in the first and third quarters spelled doom for the W.S. Neal B-team Eagles Monday at home as they fell to 1-3 with a 40-18 loss.
UMS went on an 11-0 run after a 2-2 tie at the 5:13 mark to claim a 13-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Both teams scored four points in the second quarter as UMS extended their lead to 17-6.
W.S. Neal struggled again in the third quarter as they only scored four points in the quarter.
UMS used a 7-0 run in the quarter and scored 16 points to take a 23-point lead at 33-10 heading into the fourth quarter of play.
In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal started on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 33-16 with 2:25 and fouled the rest of the way against the Bulldogs.
UMS was 7-for-15 in the quarter from the free throw line.
W.S. Neal held an 8-7 advantage in the final quarter of play, but lost 40-18.
Jalen Harrod led the B-team scorers for W.S. Neal with six points followed by four from Jaquan Tucker.
Dalton Evans had three points along with two from Donovan Millican and Josiah Nettles.
Jaleel Elliott had one point in the loss for the Eagles.
W.S. Neal will be back in action Thursday at J.U. Blacksher. The team will travel to Excel for a game on Friday.
The Eagles will be back  at home Tuesday, Dec. 8 against Northview.
Game time is set for a 4:30 p.m. tip off.
