JDCC falls to MMI

In a rematch game from the first game of the season for the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team Tuesday night at home against Marion Military, JDCC lost 84-72.
The loss dropped the Warhawks to 1-6 with their sixth straight loss this season.
JDCC trailed 47-30 after the first half, but outscored MMI 42-37 in the second half to lose by 12.
Burroughs, who had been averaging 24 points a game for the Warhawks in their first six games, had scored 23 in the first game against MMI.
Burroughs had scored 23, 27, 22, 24, 20, and 29 points in the first games for the Warhawks before being held to only five in the home loss Tuesday night.
One good thing Gainer said about Tuesday’s game was the play from Tramaine Elliott and Dennis Miller.
In the game Tuesday, all 11 Warhawk players scored in the loss.
Marquis Williams led JDCC with 12 points followed by Kentrail Brown with 11 and Damien Jackson with 10.
Miller had eight and Jamey Goddin and Brandon McCloud had seven each.
Elliott had six points along with the five from Burroughs. Logan Campbell chipped in three points.
Tra Felder added two points in the loss and Corey Redfearn had one point.
JDCC will be back in action Monday at home against Chattahoochee Valley. Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Brewton.
