WSN teams improve record

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles and the varsity Eagles came away with road wins at Excel Friday night while the B-team Eagles suffered defeat.
The B-team Eagles lost 51-46 to fall to 2-4 while the Lady Eagles won 40-34 to improve to 4-3.
The varsity Eagles earned a 63-55 win to make their record 6-3 this season.
All teams were set to take on Northview Tuesday at home and will take on T.R. Miller Friday night at home in East Brewton.
Game time is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the B-teams taking to the court followed by the girls and then varsity play will follow.
Excel 51,
W.S. Neal B-team 46
The B-team Eagles of W.S Neal dropped a 51-46 decision to Excel Friday night to fall to 2-4 this season.
Excel jumped out to an early 13-4 lead in the first quarter and held a 24-20 lead at the half following a 16-11 advantage in the second quarter that cut the lead to four points.
In the third quarter, the home team Panthers took a seven-point lead after a 12-9 advantage in the third quarter to claim a 36-29 lead.
In the fourth quarter, the Eagles cut the lead by two points with a 17-15 advantage but lost by five.
Lorenzo Womack led with 12 points and Jaquan Tucker head eight points. Donovan Millican added seven points in the loss and Jaleel Elliott had five points. Dalton Evan and Marquese Banks had points each and Percy Travis had three points. Jalen Harrod had two points and Damion Williams had one.
W.S. Neal Lady Eagles 40, Excel 34
Freida Folmar scored 15 points and Keyvonnia Kyles had 12 points as W.S. Neal improved to 4-2 with a 40-34 win over Excel.
W.S. Neal trailed 9-6 after the first quarter but regained the lead after a 10-5 advantage in the second quarter to lead 16-14 at the half.
A 14-5 advantage in the third quarter gave the Lady Eagles a 30-19 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Excel outscored W.S. Neal 15-10 to cut the lead to six points, but W.S. Neal hung on for the win.
Briana Hawthorne had six points and Megan Andrews added five points.
Angelique Askew chipped in two points in the win for the Lady Eagles.
W.S. Neal was 8-for-12 from the free throw line.
W.S. Neal Eagles 63,
Trailing the whole game and by two points at the end of the third quarter, the varsity Eagles of W.S. Neal outscored Excel 20-10 in the fourth quarter to win 63-55 over Excel and improve their record to 6-3 for the season.
The Eagles, who were 16-of-31 from the free throw line, trailed 14-11 after the first quarter and 26-25 at the half after outscoring the Panthers 14-12 in the quarter.
Excel outscored the Eagles 19-18 in the third quarter to take a 45-43 lead into the fourth quarter before being outscored 20-10 in the fourth quarter for the Eagles to claim the win.
Bob Elliott and Rashad Crook both tallied 17 points in the win and Jeremy Nicholson poured in 14 points.
Monterrius Culliver had seven points and Jeremy Alexander had four points.
Ashton Elliott and Tra Dixon had two points each in the win.
