The Brewton Middle School Lady Tigers handed the W.S. Neal Middle School Lady Eagles their first loss Thursday in East Brewton. The Tiger boys won as well.
The Lady Tigers defeated W.S. Neal 27-23 to improve to 2-4 this season while W.S. Neal ended their season with a 7-1 record.
Brewton’s boys improved to 5-1 while the Eagles of W.S. Neal Middle finished with a record of 2-6 after Brewton’s 47-20 win.

The Brewton Middle School Lady Tigers stunned the previously undefeated W.S. Neal Lady Eagles Thursday in East Brewton 27-23.
W.S. Neal led 23-22 with 3:14 left to play in the game. But, the Lady Tigers went on a 5-0 run to take a 27-23 lead with 1:18 left to play after baskets by Nastarcia Drakeford and Kristen Booker to get the four-point win.
Brewton led 6-4 after the first quarter but trailed 14-12 at halftime after a 10-6 advantage in the second quarter for the Lady Eagles.
Brewton reclaimed the lead in the third quarter with a four-point advantage in the quarter. The team took a 20-18 lead after three quarters of play and held a 7-5 advantage in the fourth quarter to get the win.
Booker led Brewton with 10 points in the win and Karisa Nelson added eight.
Drakeford had seven points and Shakera Nicholson tallied two points for Brewton.
For W.S. Neal, Daisha Flowers led with 10 points. Jasmine Crook had seven points in the loss.
Shyler Dees, Lacey Millican, and Shalicea Gross had two points each.

After taking the first game between the two teams on a buzzer beater at home, the Brewton Middle School Tigers had control of Thursday’s game from the start to take a 47-20 win over W.S. Neal to improve to 5-1 this season.
Brewton led the whole game, except for a brief tie in the first quarter, to get the 27-point win.
The visiting Tigers led 14-6 after the first quarter and 28-10 at halftime following a 14-4 advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Brewton held an 8-5 lead in the quarter to extend their overall lead to 36-15. They closed out the game with an 11-5 lead in the fourth quarter to get a 47-20 win.
Brewton used a 10-0 run over the first and second quarters to hold a 20-6 lead with 3:23 left before the halftime break.
Shaun Tolbert led Brewton with 13 points. Kameron Coleman and Eric Maye had seven points.
Corey Carter and Dominique Jackson added six points and Kieon Smith and Allen Boyd had four points.
For W.S. Neal, Michael Williams, Quantae Barksdale, and Ernst Benjamin all had four points in the loss.
Rob Jones, Zach Haveard, Antwan Jones, and Alex O’Keene all had two points.
