Magnolia Super Foods has reopened after being closed for a week due to the flooding of Murder Creek.
Michael Scott, manager at the East Brewton grocery store, said it took a lot of work to get the store open for business.
Scott said employees of the store had done an excellent job in getting the business ready for the public.
Scott said the store opened Tuesday morning to the delight of employees and customers alike.
Scott said final health inspections came quickly and was the cue to get the business open for the public.
Restocking will take some time to complete, Scott said.
Scott said the store would operate under normal business hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a special holiday schedule Dec. 24 and 25.
Redi-Cash, located next to Super Foods in the Magnolia Shopping Center, are operating with regular business hours following the flood.
Nicole Smith, a clerk with the business, said the business had some damage but reopened as quickly as possible.
Flood waters covered the intersection of Forrest Avenue and Snowden Streets where Magnolia Plaza is located. Flood waters from Murder Creek caused streets and bridges to and from East Brewton to be closed for two days. Roads and bridges reopened last Thursday.
