Many of us have complained about the cold temperatures this week, which could even bring us a dusting of snow on Thursday.
But imagine enduring these cold temperatures without heat — or, even worse, without a home.
There are resources available for those in our community who need help this week — they can call the Red Cross at 867-3426 — but, as Red Cross Director Chris Smith said, if you know someone who needs help, please be a good neighbor or family member and invite them to stay for a night or two to escape the cold.
If you have elderly neighbors, look in on them to make sure they are faring well through the winter weather.
We hope everyone takes a common sense approach to the weather conditions — especially if it is icy and snowy this week. No one wants to start the new year with an accident in the cold.
