Mr. Charles Edward Land Jr., 84, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at his Brewton residence. He was a native of Columbus, Ga., and had been a resident of Brewton for the past 59 years. He was a graduate of Troy State University, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and retired from Container Corporation. He was a member of the Brewton Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Jouette W. Land of Brewton; a son, Charles N. Land of Brewton; a daughter, Carolyn Barnes of Brewton; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Minister Mike Williams officiating and Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
