Mr. Wilbert Walton Jr., 75, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009. He was a native of Conecuh County and he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Joyce Walton; and four brothers, Roy Walton, Robert Walton, James C. Walton and Curtis Mack Walton.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucille Walton; three daughters, April (Michael) Campbell and Linda (Kelvin) James, both of Brewton, and Roselind (Fernando) Oliver of Evergreen; four sons, James C. Walton of Castleberry, Erick Walton and Jayvon Walton, both of Atlanta, and Matthew Walton of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Jeppie (Mildred) Walton and Henry (Thelma) Walton, both of Evergreen, and Andrew (Gwen) Walton of Brewton; three sisters, Gloria (William) Richardson of Far Rock Away, N.Y., Betty Jones of Brewton, and Shirley Dukes of Evergreen; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at Greater Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Stallworth officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
