Escambia County Emergency Management Director David Adams has sent the following weather update:
Light rain is expected in Escambia County this afternoon, giving way to possible freezing rain and sleet in the early evening Thursday night. Snowfall of ½ to 1 inch is possible, depending on how fast the temperatures fall.
Temperatures tonight are expected to reach the low to mid 20s. These freezing temperatures with the predicted precipitation produce the potential of ice accumulating on area bridges. Ice will form on bridges before forming on the roads. Ice can form on bridges at or slightly below 32 degrees.  Motorists should use caution.
The entire area is under a hard freeze warning for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Lows Friday morning are forecast to reach the low to mid 20s. Lows Saturday morning are expected to be in the upper teens and lows Sunday morning are expected to reach the low teens.
