T.R. Miller Lady Tigers defeat Cottage Hill

The Lady Tigers of T.R. Miller dominated their area game against Cottage Hill Christian Academy Friday night on the road as they claimed a 57-17 win.
With the win, the Lady Tigers improved to 13-2 overall and to 3-0 in area play.
The Lady Tigers shutout Cottage Hill 10-0 in the first quarter of play and then matched Cottage Hill’s point total for the whole game in the second quarter as they outscored the Warriors 17-2 to claim a 27-2 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Lady Tigers outscored Cottage Hill 20-7 to extend their lead to 47-9 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, T.R. Miller edged out Cottage Hill 10-8 to get the win by 40 points.
Nakiya Smith, who had 21 points over the span of the second and third quarters, led the Lady Tigers with 25 points and Leah Brundidge chipped in 14 points.
Cottage Hill 64,
T.R. Miller B-team 54
In a high scoring B-team game Friday night between the T.R. Miller Tigers and the Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors, Cottage Hill edged out T.R. Miller 64-54.
The loss dropped the Tigers of Brewton to 2-4 overall.
In the first quarter Friday night in Mobile, Cottage Hill outscored the Tigers by four points in the quarter to take an early 15-11 lead.
Cottage Hill extended their lead to 10 points at halftime following an 18-12 second quarter scoring advantage to lead 33-23.
Following a 14-11 third quarter in favor of the home team, Cottage Hill improved their lead by three points to lead 47-34 heading into the fourth quarter of play.
In the fourth, T.R. Miller cut into the lead by three points, 20-17, but it was not enough as they lost by 10 points 64-54.
Darrion Salter led the Tigers in the defeat with 16 points and Caleb Hubbard added 13 points.
Dayvon Samuel added 11 points for the Tigers as they remaining 14 were scattered among the team.
Cottage Hill 63,
T.R. Miller 33
Large deficits after the first quarter and at halftime spelled the recipe for a 63-33 area loss Friday night on the road against Cottage Hill for the T.R. Miller varsity Tigers.
The 30-point loss dropped the Tigers to 0-12 overall and to 0-3 in area play.
T.R. Miller trailed 19-0 after the first quarter of play and 32-3 at halftime following a 13-3 second quarter in favor of the Warriors of Cottage Hill Christian.
In the third quarter, Cottage Hill outscored the Tigers 20-12 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 52-15.
In the fourth quarter, the Tigers outscored Cottage Hill 18-11 to cut into the lead by seven points, but it was not enough as they picked up the loss.
The Tigers shot around 1-of-19 from the field in the first half and was about 1-of-8 from the free throw line in the first half.
Derrick Riley led with 12 points and Kori Jackson had six points in the loss.
Marc Edge chipped in four points and Kameron Winn, Keenan Pride, and Terez Lane all had three points.
