Escambia County Habitat for Humanity is working to help make the dream of owning a home more attainable for everyone.
Alecia Glaize, executive director for the countywide organization, is hoping those dreaming of owning a home will take time to attend a potential homeowner orientation session.
Glaize said applications for Habitat homes would only be made available to those who attend the orientation sessions.
Two sessions will be offered to Brewton/East Brewton area residents who are interested in becoming Habitat for Humanity homeowners, Glaize said.
Certain criteria must be met in order for potential homeowners to qualify for the program, Glaize said.
Other criteria for applicants include a stable verifiable income; willingness to partner with Habitat in building their own home and homes of others with a minimum investment of 450 sweat equity hours; and a willingness to sign a 20-year, no-interest mortgage.
