There is an old saying of what goes around, comes around and that saying held true Friday night at home for the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles in a bad way as they suffered a 35-23 loss on senior night to fall to 9-12 overall this season.
After falling behind early in the game 4-0, the Lady Eagles benefited from an 11-0 run of their own in the first quarter to take an 11-4 lead with 2:35 left in the quarter and lead 11-6 at quarters end.
But after scoring early in the second quarter to lead 13-6 with 6:38, the Lady Eagles fell to a 13-0 run by the Lady Hurricanes and were outscored 13-2 in the quarter to trail 19-13 at halftime.
Flomaton would go on and outscore W.S. Neal 7-5 in the third quarter to lead 26-18 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Flomaton edged the Lady Eagles 9-5 in the quarter to get the 12-point win.
W.S. Neal’s five points in the fourth quarter were all on free throws as they were 5-for-12 in the quarter and 10-for-22 on the night.
Of the Lady Eagles 23 points, 10 came on free throws in the loss.
Flomaton was 7-for-18 from the free throw line in the win.
Freida Folmar led the Lady eagles with 14 points and Megan Andrews added three points.
Briana Hawthorne and Arianna Jones added three points each. Angelique Askew and Keyvonnia Kyles both had one point each in the loss.
The Lady Eagles will compete in the area tournament as the No. 4 seed Thursday in Mobile against No. 1 UMS-Wright. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

Pleasant Home 36
After suffering a tough loss on Senior night, the Lady Eagles responded Monday night on the road against Pleasant Home with a 42-36 win to improve to 10-12.
The Lady Eagles used a 14-6 third quarter to get the six-point win.
W.S. Neal led 9-7 after the first quarter, but trailed 16-15 at halftime following a 9-6 scoring advantage for Pleasant Home.
With the 14-6 advantage for W.S. Neal in the third quarter, the Lady Eagles took a 29-22 lead and held on after being outscored by one point, 14-13, in the fourth quarter.
W.S. Neal shot 8-of-17 from the free throw line while Pleasant Home was 10-of-15.
Kyles led with 20 points and Folmar followed with 15 points.
Askew added three points and Megan Andrews added four points along with Hawthorne.
