Members of the Brewton Police Department’s Narcotics Unit arrested two area residents on drug charges Jan. 28.
Jeremy Baker, a resident of Castleberry, was arrested on a warrant from the Brewton Police Department for unlawful purchase of Pseudoephedrine.
Bryan Davis, Narcotics Division Director for Brewton Police Department, said Baker had been under investigation with the Brewton Narcotics Division for purchasing more than the legal limit of the drug.
Melissa Bradberry of Ridge Road in Brewton was a passenger with Baker at the time of the traffic stop, Davis said. She was also arrested in the case.
Both Baker and Bradberry were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Davis said Bradberry had additional charges filed against her as she was being processed into the Escambia County Detention Center.
Davis said because of the results of the search, Bradberry was also charged with promoting prison contraband since the substance was introduced into a correctional facility.
Baker is out on a $5,000 bond. Bradberry was released after posting bail on a $15,000 bond.
