Mrs Verda Mae Gandy-Abroms, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at her residence. She was a native and resident of Lenox before moving to Gandyville in 1938. She was a member of Poplar Dell Baptist Church and was preceded  in death by her parents, Jesse A. and Etta L. Boling Lee; her husbands, James E. Gandy and W.M. “T” Abrams; three brothers, J.V. Lee, Alvin Lee and Homer Lee; and a sister, Elsie Lee.
She is survived by her son, James Gandy of Gandyville; two daughters, Carolyn (Bob) Shelton of Montgomery, and Linda (Fred) Shiver of Mobile; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and special caregivers, Jerilyn Simmons and Jodie Griffin.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mitch Herring, the Rev. Ragan Boling and the Rev. Robert Gandy officiating. Burial followed at Byrneville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
