Ms. Barbara Ann Ervin, 65, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, after an extended illness. She was a former resident of Brewton and a long time resident of Mobile. She was a 1963 graduate of Central High School and a 1967 graduate of Alabama State University. She taught math at Southern Normal for many years. After the school closed she moved back to Mobile and taught school there. She was a member of Stone Street Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Della Ervin; her grandmother, Euline Mitchell; her sister, Mary Koen.
She is survived by four sisters, Betty Ervin (caregiver), Delores Davis of Mobile, Geraldine (Erk) Johnson, and Carolyn King of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, James (Gereline) Davis of Elmont, New York. and Joseph Ervin of Moble; adopted daughter, , Susan Jones of Brewton; an uncle, Roosevelt (Ruby) Brock of Greensboro; devoted nephew, John Arnold Jr. and a host of other friends and family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, from 9 to 11a.m. at Stone Street Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Stone Street Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with Lovett’s Funeral Chapel directing.
