Altough Brewton area residents were deighted with a significant snowfall last week, emergency crews were put to the test.
Escambia County Emergency Mangement Director David Adams said there were so many accidents along area roads “there were too many to count.”
The response of city, county and state emergency responders was swift and thorough and no serious injuries were reported in any of the accidents seen during the hours of snowfall here.
With many offices including several banks, city and county government offices closing as a result of the unexpected snowfall employees of the closed offices were able to spend time with their families enjoying a rare sight in the area.
Emergency response workers were not as fortunate. Instead of building a snowman or having a snowball fight with their families they were busy taking care of stranded motorists, accident victims and handling traffic problems throughout the area.
Thank you would never be enough to say how much their hardwork and dedication to their is appreciated by all of us.
We hope that you will take the opportunity to thank emergency workers when the time presents itself. The next accident they respond to could be yours.
