Mrs. Idell Watson Blackmon, 84, of Foshee Road, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at her residence, after an extended illness.
She was a native of Brewton and a former resident of Warner Robbins, Ga., before moving back to Brewton many years ago. She was a homemaker, a member of the South Bethel Church of God and attended Shady Grove Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William James Blackmon; a son, Mickey Blackmon; and a daughter, Shirley Godfrey.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Bonnie) Blackmon of Kathleen, Ga., and the Rev. Tommy (Becky) Blackmon of Brewton; a daughter, Barbara (Dennis) Shipp of Brewton; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Graver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Richburg officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
