JDCC Lady Warhawks go 2-2 at tournament

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team went 2-2 in the Faulkner State Round Robin tournament Saturday and Sunday to improve their record to 3-3 this season.
JDCC defeated Pensacola Junior College 6-5 before falling to Northwest Florida State College 15-1.
JDCC then defeated Jones County Community College 3-2 before losing against to Northwest Florida 10-2.
JDCC was set to take on PJC Friday at home and will take on Northwest Florida Thursday on the road at 1 and 3 p.m.

With the game tied at 4-4 after seven innings of play, JDCC scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning while PJC scored one in the bottom of the inning as JDCC won 6-5.
CaSandra Yarbrough, Aleah Payne, and Candice Lawrence all went 2-for-4 in the win at the plate and Elise Schanley went 3-for-4.
Lawrence led with three RBIs while Yarbrough, Payne, and Schanley all had one each.
Jessica Myrick, Brittany Linton, and Lacey Wiggins all pitched in the win.
Myrick allowed two earned runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out two.
Linton went three innings and allowed no earned runs, one walk and struck out two.
Wiggins went one inning and allowed no runs, no hits, no walks, and no strikeouts.
NW Florida 15, JDCC 1
JDCC was held to only three hits and one run as they fell to 2-2 overall with a 15-1 loss to Northwest Florida.
Payne had the lone RBI and run in the loss as she went 1-for-2 with a homerun.
Kristin Myers went 1-for-1 in the loss along with Lawrence.
Wiggins took the loss on the mound as she went one inning and allowed six earned runs, nine hits, walked three, and struck out none.
Yarbrough and Jessica Myrick pitched in the loss.
Northwest Florida scored six runs in the first inning, four in the second inning, two in the third inning, one in the fourth, and two in the fifth inning.
JDCC 3, Jones County 2
Trailing 2-0 after the top of the sixth inning, JDCC scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and one in the seventh inning to get a 3-2 win and improve to 3-2 overall.
Wiggins earned the win on the mound as she went the complete game seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits, one walk, and struck out four.
Tiffany Duncan went 1-for-2 and Payne went 1-for-3.
Schanley was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Wiggins was 1-for-2.
NW Florida 10,
JDCC 2
An eight-run third inning by Northwest Florida allowed them to take a 10-2 win over JDCC in the final game of the tournament and drop the Lady Warhawks to 3-3 overall.
Northwest Florida led 2-0 after the first inning before having the eight-run third inning.
JDCC added two runs in the fourth inning.
Duncan was 2-for-3 with one RBI in the loss and Payne was 1-for-3.
Sarah Dunaway had the lone RBI in the loss and Andrea Ruschel was 1-for-1 and Kaitlyn Melendez was 1-for-1.
Myrick and Linton both pitched in the loss.
Linton got the start and the loss on the mound for JDCC as she went three innings and allowed six earned runs, 10 hits, walked one and struck out one.
Myrick went one inning and allowed no runs, no walks, and struck out none.
