Lady Eagle softball routs MC

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team started their 2010 season off with a bang Friday in Monroeville. The team improved to 1-0 with a 17-2 win in four innings.
The Lady Eagles of W.S. Neal used a 10-run first inning to help aid in the win. The Eagles had a five-run third inning and added two more in the fourth. The efforts of the team held the Lady Tigers of Monroe County to just one run in the first and the third innings to get the 15-run win.
Kaitlin Hadaway went the distance on the mound for the Lady Eagles and earned the complete game win.
Hadaway had four strikeouts, allowed two walks, and two hits in the four-inning game.
At the plate for the Lady Eagles, Kena Ellison went 1-for-2 with a single and scored three runs while Lauren Boatwright was 1-for-3 with a single and four runs scored in the win.
The Lady Eagles were set to play at Florala on Monday in a doubleheader before traveling to Atmore  Thursday to take on the Escambia County Lady Blue Devils in a 4 p.m. game.
The game with Florala was cancelled and has been rescheduled for Friday, April 9.
