T.R. Miller’s Lady Tiger softball team will begin their season Friday when they host the 2010 T.R. Miller Invitational.
The tournament will begin play on Friday, March 5, at 4 p.m. with the last games set for 7:45 p.m.
Play will resume on Saturday at 9 a.m. with the first of two pool play games and the single elimination tournament will begin at noon based on pool play seedings.
Pool A teams consist of Florala, T.R. Miller, Northview, and Escambia County. Pool B teams consist of Monroe County, W.S. Neal, J.U. Blacksher, and Jay.
On Friday for pool A, T.R. Miller will take on Florala at 4 p.m. on field D followed by Northview and Escambia County at 5:15 p.m., Northview and T.R. Miller at 6:30 p.m. and Escambia County and Florala at 7:45 p.m.
In pool B, Monroe County and W.S. Neal will begin play at 4 p.m. on field C followed by J.U. Blacksher and Jay, Monroe County and Jay and W.S. Neal and J.U. Blacksher at 7:45 p.m.
On Saturday, T.R. Miller will open play at 9 a.m. against Escambia County and Florala and Northview will play at 10:15 a.m.
W.S. Neal will play Jay at 10:15 a.m. while J.U. Blacksher and Monroe County will tangle at 9 a.m.
A lunch break will be held from 11:30 p.m. to noon.
In the single elimination tournament, the No. 1 seed from pool A will play the No. 4 seed from pool B at noon followed by No. 2 from pool A and No. 3 from pool B at 1:15 p.m.
Also at noon on field C, the No. 1 seed from pool B and the No. 4 seed from pool A will play.
Also at 1:15 p.m., the No. 2 team from pool B will take on the No. 3-seed from pool A.
Winners will advance to the next round while the losers will be eliminated.
