T.R. Miller’s JV baseball team opened their 2010 season Saturday at W.S. Neal in the Eagles JV Invitational Tournament.
The Tigers of Brewton finished the tournament winless with an 0-3 record.
T.R. Miller lost to Northview in the first game of the tournament 1-0 before falling to Flomaton in game two 6-5, and ending the tournament with an 11-6 loss to W.S. Neal.
Northview 1, T.R. Miller 0
The Tigers of T.R. Miller had only one hit in their first game of the season and lost 1-0 to Northview to start the season 0-1.
Northview scored the lone run in the game in the fourth inning. Shawn Odom had the lone hit in the game for T.R. Miller and was 1-for-2 at the plate in the loss.
Odom also took the loss on the mound as he went five innings and allowed one runs on four hits, walked three and struck out nine.
Flomaton 6, T.R. Miller 5
T.R. Miller fell to 0-2 with a 6-5 loss to Flomaton in their second game of the tournament.
The Tigers scored one run in the second inning, three in the third inning and one in the fourth while the Hurricanes scored three in the first, one in the second, and two in the fourth for the win.
Darby Black took the loss on the mound for T.R Miller as he went four innings and allowed six runs on four hits, walked five and struck out nine.
Collin Graves was 1-for-2 at the plate in the loss while Odom was 2-for-2 with a double. Curtis Glaize was 1-for-2 and Jacob Fillmore was 1-for-2 with a double. Trey Salter was 1-for-1 and Brett Smith was 2-for-2.
W.S. Neal 11, T.R. Miller 6
In their final game of the tournament, the Tigers lost to host W.S. Neal 11-6 to fall to 0-3.
T.R. Miller scored one run in the first and three in the fourth and two in the fifth while W.S. Neal scored two in the first, seven in the second inning and two more in the third inning.
Caleb Dickey was 1-for-3 along with Graves and Kameron Winn. Odom was 3-for-3 with a double and Glaize was 1-for-2.
Black was 1-for-1 and Fillmore was 1-for-2 with a triple.
Graves took the loss on the mound going three innings and allowing 11 runs on six hits, walked and struck out two.
Smith went the final inning and allowed no runs on one hit and struck out one.
