The W.S. Neal High School Eagle baseball team improved their record to 7-4 Thursday at home with a doubleheader sweep of Monroe County.
The Eagles claimed game one from the Tigers 7-2 and took game two 10-0.
The Eagles will be back in action Tuesday at Monroe County. The JV teams will begin play at 4 p.m. followed by the varsity at 6 p.m.
Game one:
W.S. Neal 7, Monroe County 2
Hunter Mullins went 3-for-4 at the plate with a homerun, two RBIs and scored three times as the Eagles defeated Monroe County 7-2.
W.S. Neal scored a run in the first, third, fourth, and fifth innings before plating three in the sixth inning to extend their lead from 4-2 to 7-2.
Mullins had a solo homerun for the Eagles in the fifth inning.
Also at the plate for the Eagles, Damion Williams was 1-for-2 with an RBI and Reid Johnson was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Bradley was 1-for-2 and Logan Williamson was 1-for-3 with a double.
Dodson Herrington was 1-for-2 and Josh Palmer had an RBI in the win.
Bradley picked up the win on the mound going six innings and allowing four hits, no walks and struck out five.
Game two:
W.S. Neal 10, Monroe County 0
Gary McGraw struck out 10 Tigers and allowed only one hit as W.S. Neal claimed a 10-run mercy rule win over Monroe County 10-0.
McGraw walked only one in the win to improve W.S. Neal to 7-4 overall.
At the plate, Mullins was 1-for-1 with one RBI, three runs scored, two walks, and two stolen bases.
Christian Purvis was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Williams was 1-for-1 with two walks and one run scored.
Monterrius Culliver was 1-for-1 with two runs scored and two walks and Tyler Joyner was 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
In other games for the W.S. Neal High School baseball team, the Eagles improved their record to 5-4 with a split against Flomaton and a loss at Northview.
W.S. Neal took game one against Flomaton at Flomaton Friday night 8-1 to improve to 5-2, but lost game two 6-1 to fall to 5-3.
Monday, the Eagles traveled to Northview and lost 4-3 to fall to 5-4 overall.

Flomaton 1
Friday night in Flomaton, Eagle pitcher Gary McGraw allowed two hits and struck out 11 Hurricanes to give W.S. Neal an 8-1 win.
The Eagles scored one run in the second, third, fifth, and seventh innings while adding four in the fourth for the win.
McGraw went seven innings allowing two hits, two walks and one unearned run. 
Keith Bradley was 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored.
Reid Johnson was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Logan Williamson was also 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Josh Palmer was 2-for-2 with one RBI in the win.
Game two:
Flomaton 6,
W.S. Neal 1
Leading 1-0 after the top of the sixth inning, the Eagles of East Brewton gave up six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to fall 6-1.
Bradley went six innings on the mound for the Eagles and allowed three hits, three walks, struck out three and allowed one earned run.
Dylan Godwin was 2-for-2 with one RBI and Johnson was 1-for-3.
Bradley had a one-hitter going into the sixth inning before the Eagles committed five errors and gave up six runs.
At the plate, the Eagles struck out 13 times.
Northview 4,
W.S. Neal 3
W.S. Neal’s baseball team fell to 5-4 overall with a 4-3 loss to Northview Monday night in Century.
W.S. Neal, after scoring one run in the first inning and two in the third, led 4-0 heading into the fourth inning.
McGraw took the loss in relief of starter Godwin.
Godwin went the first 3 1/3 innings allowing two hits, two runs, struck out one, walked three, and allowed two earned runs.
McGraw went 1 2/3 innings allowing two hits, two runs, and two walks.
Brian Settle went the final inning and allowed one hit and struck out one.
W.S. Neal had five hits in the game while Northview collected five hits also. Three of the runs scored by Northview came off walked batters.
Johnson was 2-for-3 at the plate for W.S. Neal with a run scored and Williamson had two RBIs. Christian Purvis was 1-for-3 with one RBI in the loss. 
Northview 9,
W.S. Neal JV 3
After beating Northview Saturday in their own JV tournament 13-4, the Eagle JV team lost their first season game 9-3 to the same Northview Chief team.
The Eagles managed just three hits and made eight errors in the field.
Tyler Joyner and Jeremy Myers both pitched for the Eagles in the loss with Joyner going the first four inning and Myers the last two.
Myers was 1-for-3 along with Taylor Ballard and John Ellis. Mike Williams was 1-for-2 in the loss.
W.S. Neal scored two runs in the fourth and one run in the sixth inning.
The Eagles will open area play at Jackson Thursday in a  junior varsity and varsity doubleheader set to begin at 4 p.m.
The two teams will play in East Brewton on Friday.
Game time is set to begin at 4 p.m. with a doubleheader.
