Two East Brewton men were arrested and face a variety of drug charges after police officers from Brewton and East Brewton served a search warrant Friday night.
Sgt. Bryan Davis, supervisor of the Brewton Police Department’s Narcotics Division, said the arrests came during and after a search at the Ballard Street address.
Daryl Steadman of 205 Ballard St., in East Brewton, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine), unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Xanax), first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A second resident, Reginald Tyrone Curry, 32, of the Ballard Street was also arrested Friday night as he returned to his home, Davis said.
Curry was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine), unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Xanax), first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Davis said information concerning the possibility of illegal drug activity had been reported to law enforcement from concerned individuals.
Davis said agents searched the residence and found a variety of drugs and paraphernalia.
Curry and Steadman were both transported to the Escambia County Jail.  
Davis said both East Brewton and Brewton Police Departments are continuing to investigate other illegal narcotic activities that have taken place at the Ballard Street residence including persons who have purchased illegal narcotics from the location.
Steadman and Curry were booked into the Escambia County Detention Center. Both have been released on $10,000 bond.
Davis said officers from his department worked with officers from the East Brewton and Brewton Police Departments, Brewton K-9 units and the Brewton Special Response Team in the investigation and subsequent arrests.
