WSN softball goes 0-3 at Florala tournament

In the Florala Invitational Saturday, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team continued their recent woes and losing streak as they went 0-3 in the tournament to fall to 3-7 with seven straight losses. W.S. Neal lost to Florala 9-8 in a tiebreaker and 23-3 to Samson. In the single elimination tournament, W.S. Neal lost Samson 12-2.
Haney said he was proud of his team for their effort and proud to see them battle from behind.
Game one: Florala 9, W.S. Neal 8
In the first game of the tournament, the Lady Eagles lost 9-8.
Kaitlin Hadaway pitched five innings in the loss for the Lady Eagles and gave up two earned runs, four hits, struck out seven and walked three.
At the plate, Autumn Hinote was 2-for-2 with one RBI and a double. Anna Nelson was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Tiffany Pettis reached base three times on walks.
Game two:
Samson 23, W.S. Neal 3
In game two, Lauren Boatwright and Autumn Hinote were both 1-for-2 at the plate. Jade Danley pitched two Innings and struck out five.  
Game three:
Samson 12, W.S. Neal 2
W.S. Neal finished off the tournament 0-3 with a 12-2 loss against Samson.
Hadaway pitched four innings, striking out one and walked three.
Kena Ellison reached base twice on free passes and Danley went 1-for-2 at the plate.
