Mrs. Latham was born Aug. 2, 1933, in Brewton to LeRoy and Ina Mae Bales Dean. She was married to Luther Latham for 54 years.
She graduated from Howard College, now known as Samford University, in May 1955 with a bachelors of science. She was a teacher with the Arab City School System.
She is survived by her husband: Luther Latham of Arab; sons and daughters-in-law: Barry and Tina Latham and Gannon and Jennifer Latham of Arab; daughters and son-in-law: Luanne Latham of Chattanooga and Lorrie and Terry Latham-Ellis of Arab; brother and sister-in-law: William and Shirley Dean of Sylacauga; sister-in-laws: Jean and James Isbill of Albertville and Glennavis Latham of Arab; grandchildren: Tyler Hawkins, Benjamin LeCroy, Britney Latham, Eli LeCroy, Chasey Latham, Rochelle Ferguson-Long, Stephanie Ferguson-Fields, Nick Ellis, McKenzie Ellis, Lucas Ellis, Russell Dailey and Hunter Dailey; and great-grandchildren: Jaiden Long, Jarrett Long and Lillie Anna Ellis.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010, at Gober Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Paul Murphy officiating and Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
