Mr. Andy Lewis McCormick, 79, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at his residence. He was a native and life-long resident of Century. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1951. He was a radio operator as well as an electrical and telephone lineman and repairman. He was a 1956 graduate of Auburn University and received his bachelor’s degree in industrial management. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Eunice McCurdy McCormick; his son, Michael B. McCormick; his daughter, Patricia H. Mccormick; and his siblings.
He is survived by a granddaughter, Charity L. McCormick of Opelousas, La.; a grandson, Austin B. Smith of Pace, Fla.; a great-granddaughter, Jade M. Credeur of Opelousas, La.; long-time friends, Carole L Smith and Glen Rollin; and numerous other family members.
There will be a graveside gathering Thursday, March 25, at 1 p.m. at McCurdy Cemetery in Century, Fla., with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
