Lack of hits hurt Lady Eagles against Hillcrest

In a Thursday area softball game for the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles at home, W.S. Neal was held to only two hits as they lost 3-0 to the Hillcrest Lady Jaguar team.
The loss for the Lady Eagles dropped them to 3-9 overall and to 0-2 in area play.
The loss was the ninth straight loss for the Lady Eagles after starting their season on a three-game win streak.
In a JV game in the nightcap, the Lady Eagles defeated Hillcrest 14-4 in three innings.
W.S. Neal will be back in action Tuesday on the road when they travel to Jackson for a 4:30 p.m. area game.

Autumn Hinote went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Lady Eagles only hits of the game as they lost to Hillcrest 3-0.
With only two hits in the game, the Lady Eagles made four errors and gave up one run in the second and two in the fourth inning to the Lady Jaguars to lose by three.
While Hillcrest scored two runs in the fourth inning, they managed the runs on no hits and two Lady Eagle errors.
W.S. Neal struck out seven times at the plate in the loss and left seven players on base.
Kaitlin Hadaway took the loss on the mound as she went the complete game seven innings allowing one earned runs on five hits, walked one, hit one, and struck out 12.

Hillcrest 4
In a junior varsity  game, pitchers Jade Danley and Amanda Crawford combined for a one hitter as the JV Lady Eagles earned a 14-4 win over Hillcrest.
W.S. Neal led 4-0 after the first inning and scored 10 runs in the second inning to take a 14-0 lead after two innings.
In the top of the third inning, Hillcrest scored four runs on one hit and one Lady Eagle error, but W.S. Neal was able to claim the 10-run win.
Danley picked up the win on the mound going two innings and walking two and striking out two while giving up no hits.
Crawford went one inning allowing four runs on one hit, walked four, hit one, and struck out two.
Hinote continued her hot bat in game two as she went 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Anna Nelson was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Heather Elliott was 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Raley Boggs was 1-for-2 with one RBI along with Casey Nolin.
Morgan Cooper was 1-for-2 with two RBIs in the win.
