WSN junior varsity Eagles fall to 8-4 in recent games

W.S. Neal’s JV baseball team went 1-3 in their recent four game stretch of games to fall to 7-4 overall.
The JV Eagles lost to Jackson Thursday in Jackson 6-5 and went 1-2 in the Monroe County JV tournament Saturday in Monroeville.
The Eagles defeated Monroe County 11-4 to open the tournament before falling to Excel 3-1 and to Bayside Academy 8-7.
W.S. Neal improved to 8-4 Tuesday with a 5-1 win against Flomaton at home.
W.S. Neal will be back in action Monday, March 29, at home against T.R. Miller.
Game time is set to begin at 4 p.m. before the varsity game that is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Jackson 6, W.S. Neal JV 5
Jackson scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to turn a 5-2 deficit into a 6-5 win Thursday in Jackson.
Taylor Ballard and John Ellis were both 1-for-2 in the loss for the Eagles with Ballard scoring two runs.

Monroe County 4
In the first game of the Monroe County JV tournament, the Eagles of East Brewton scored seven runs in the first inning to help cue an 11-4 win.
Tyler Joyner pitched the entire game to get the win for the Eagles,
At the plate for W.S. Neal, Brian Settle was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Joyner was 1-for-2 and Ballard was 1-for-1. Cam Easterling has an RBI in the win and Sean Lucas was 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
Excel 3, W.S. Neal 1
Excel defeated W.S. Neal 3-1 in the second game of the tournament for the Eagles.
Brian Settle pitched five innings in the loss striking out six, walking two, allowed four hits and three unearned runs.
Jeremy Myers was 1-for-2 with a double in the fourth inning that scored the lone Eagle run.
Joyner was 1-for-1 with a single and a sacrifice bunt and Miles Powell had a single in the fifth inning for W.S. Neal.
Bayside 8,
W.S. Neal 7
W.S. Neal ended the tournament with an 8-7 loss to Bayside Academy.
Cam Blackmon started the game on the mound and went 1 1/3 innings and allowed five runs on four hits, struck out two and walked three.  
Myers went two innings and allowed two runs on two hits, walked three and struck out four.
Brian Settle went the final 1/3 inning and allowed one hit and struck out one.
Tyler Joyner was 2-for-2 and Sean Lucas was 2-for-2 with a double and a triple, one RBI and two runs scored.
Miles Powell was 1-for-1 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored in the game.

Flomaton 1
The Eagles scored four runs in the third inning and one in the fifth before Flomaton scored one run in the fifth inning.
Myers took the win on the mound as he has a no-hitter broken up in the top of the fifth inning and allowed one unearned run while striking out nine and walking two.
Brandon Carmichael was 1-for-1 with one run scored, a stolen base, and one RBI. Blackmon was 1-for-2 with one run scored and one RBI.
Myers was 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
