TRM Lady Tiger softball beats JUB

After blowing a lead in the bottom of the seventh inning last week to Baldwin County, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team improved to 10-3 with a 5-3 win over J.U. Blacksher Tuesday in Uriah.
Against J.U. Blacksher, the Lady Tigers built a 5-0 lead after six innings of play before allowing the Lady Bulldogs to score three runs in the bottom of the seven to cut the lead to 5-3.
With the lead cut to two runs, the Lady Tigers were able to hang on and get the win.
Lady Tiger starting pitcher Taylor Guthrie went the complete distance on the mound and allowed two hits, struck out eight, and walked 11 in the win.
At the plate for the Lady Tigers, Natalie Neal was 1-for-4 along with Guthrie, Leigh Margaret Bostic, and Kadejah Palmore.
Sarah Lee was 2-for-4 and Kristen Booker was 1-for-3.

The Lady Tiger JV team shutout Blacksher 6-0 to improve their record to 5-3 this season.
Laurel Billy had seven strikeouts and allowed one hit and two walks in the win on the mound for the Lady Tigers.
T.R. Miller scored one run in the fourth inning and five in the fourth inning to get the big win.
At the plate for T.R. Miller, Lauren Ward was 2-for-3 with a homerun and Moriah Brundidge was 1-for-3. Michaela Stabler was 2-for-3 and Jessica Allan was 1-for-3. Kelsey Thompson was 2-for-2 with a triple in the win.

Leading 4-2 after the top of the seventh inning, the Lady Tigers lost 5-4 to Baldwin County on the road last week to fall to 9-3 overall.
Guthrie took the loss on the mound as she allowed four hits, six walks and struck out seven.
Brundidge was 1-for-4 and Neal was 2-for-4 with a double.
Palmore was 1-for-3 and Takeysia McFugerson was 1-for-3.
Baldwin County scored one run in the first and fourth innings and two in the seventh inning while T.R. Miller scored their four runs in the second inning.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Lady Tigers had two walks and three errors to suffer the loss.
