Mrs. Myrtice Dean Acuff, 91, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 in a Jay, Fla., hospital. She was a native of Garland and a member of the Flomaton community for 27 years, coming from West Richland, Wash., where she and her husband owned and operated a motel. She was a member of Flomaton United Methodist Church and is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy, her parents, Samuel Oliver and Birdie Mae Owens Dean, three brothers, Kimble, Hunter, Erston and wife, Ruth Dean, and a sister, Mildred and her husband, Willard Killam.
She is survived by her brother, Judson (Elaine) Dean of Flomaton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 27, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jesse Lough officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were Speedy Brantley, Jim Hurber, Daniel Moore, Joe Brantley, Johnny Harrell and David Nolin.
