JDCC Warhawk baseball on losing streak, now 8-20 overall

The Jefferson Davis Community College baseball team fell to 8-20 overall and to 3-9 in conference play with a recent five-game losing streak.
The Warhawks were swept by Central Alabama in a three-game series and lost to Lurleen B. Wallace Monday.
Central Alabama 6,
JDCC 5
JDCC led 5-2 heading into the top of the ninth inning before giving up four runs in the inning to lose by one run.
Andrew Favant took the loss on the mound.  Blake Long was 1-for-5 for the Warhawks with three RBIs and Ryne Phillips was 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
Michael King went eight innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on seven hits, walked five and struck out five.
Central Alabama 6,
JDCC 0
In game two against Central Alabama, JDCC was shutout to fall to 8-18 overall and to 3-8 in conference.
Favant took the loss as he went seven innings and allowed 11 hits, three earned runs, walked three and struck out three.
Taylor Register was 1-for-4 with a double and Zach Payne was 2-for-3.
Central Alabama 10,
JDCC 2
In the final game of the series, JDCC lost 10-0.
Shane Ikner took the loss as he went 5 2/3 innings and allowed 12 hits, nine runs, walked one and struck out two.
Phillips led at the plate going 1-for-4 with a homerun.
LBW 10, JDCC 0
JDCC committed nine errors and had only five hits to fall to 8-20 overall with a 10-0 loss to LBW.  Phillips was 2-for-3 with a double and Ryne Drummonds was 2-for-2 with a double.
William Shell took the loss going three innings and allowing four hits, one earned run, walked one and struck out one.
JDCC will be back at home April 9.
