TRM baseball wins eighth straight game

T.R. Miller’s Tiger baseball team rolled to their eighth straight win Tuesday at home in an area game against Choctaw County, as they improved to 13-3 overall and to 3-1 in area play with a 17-2 win.
The Tigers scored 11 runs in the first inning while batting around and pounded out 13 hits along with seven Choctaw County errors.
T.R. Miller would add one run in the second inning, three in the third, and two more in the fifth inning while holding the visiting Tigers to two runs in the top of the third inning.
Conner Denton and Kevin Davis led the Tigers at the plate as Denton was 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs and Davis was 3-for-4 with a homerun and four RBIs.
Wes Dickey was 1-for-3 with one RBI followed by Caleb McAnally who was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
Cody Swain went 1-for-3 and Corey Rilling was 1-for-2. Robert Knowles was 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs and Bryant Jernigan added an RBI in the win.
Stephen Warren went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI and Dakota Shultz rounded out the hitters with a 1-for-1 day.
Rilling picked up the win on the mound for T.R. Miller as he went the first two innings of the game and allowed one hit and struck out two.
Dickey went two innings and allowed four hits, two runs, two walks, and struck out three.
Denton closed the game going one inning and allowed no runs and struck out three.
T.R. Miller was set to take on Bayside Academy in an area game in Daphne Friday night and will play at Northview today in a doubleheader at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Tigers of T.R. Miller will travel to Excel Tuesday for a 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. doubleheader with the Panthers.
