The following are recounts of games played last week that did not appear in Wednesday’s edition of The Brewton Standard.
Rockies 8,
Tigers 7 (8 Inn.)
The Rockies – who watched their opponents strand three runners in scoring position in the final two innings – finally got the game-winner in the bottom of the 8th when Trippe Floyd doubled, stole third and eventually scored the game-winner when Alex Daughtery singled.
Brittain started on the mound and struck out eight before giving way to Floyd, who got the win in relief and also struck out 8.
Brewers 13,
Rangers 7
Brown, Dakota Stokes and Caleb Winton contributed a pair of hits and an RBI apiece, while Christian Alvarez drilled a two-run home run for the Brewers.
Astros 12,
Marlins 9
Daniel Blair got the win on the mound, striking out six while giving up seven hits.
