First Progressive earns five stars

Making the grade for any business may be difficult in these tough economic times, but for First Progressive Bank in Brewton, it’s an honor they have achieved time and time again.
Officials with BauerFinancial, Inc., of Coral Gables, Fla., has announced the Brewton bank has received its highest five-star superior rating for overall financial superiority in such areas as capital adequacy, delinquent loan levels and profitability.
The recent honor marks the 20th consecutive quarter First Progressive Bank has earned the distinction.
Karen L. Dorway, president of BauerFinancial, said it is important to know there are financial institutions that are strong, secure and ready and able to assist their communities.
The local financial institution was established in 1977 and has been serving the banking needs of the community for 33 years.
The branch operates at offices located at the intersection of St. Nicholas Avenue and Sowell Street standing on their slogan “keeping an eye on community needs.”
