In a game between two undefeated teams in the area, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team swept a home doubleheader with Choctaw County Thursday to claim the regular season area championship.
The Lady Tigers defeated Choctaw County 8-3 in game one and 11-8 in game two to improve to 18-3 overall. The Tigers finished the regular season area portion of their schedule perfectly with a 6-0 record.
White said starting pitcher Taylor Guthrie pitched two great games and the team hit the ball well.

In game one, the Lady Tigers used a four and three-run fourth and fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie and get a five-run win.
Guthrie went the complete game allowing one earned run and five hits. He struck out 11, walked two and hit one.
Leah Brundidge was 3-for-4 with a triple, double, and an RBI. Guthrie was 2-for-4 and Natalie Neal had one RBI.
Takeysia McFugerson and Sarah Lee were both 1-for-4. Emily Waters was 1-for-3 in the game.
Audrey Hamric was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Leigh Margaret Bostic was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Choctaw County scored one run in the third inning and two in the seventh while T.R. Miller had one in the first, four in the fourth, and three in the fifth.

Choctaw County 8
An eight-run third inning for T.R. Miller paved the way to a win in game two as the Lady Tigers earned the regular season area championship.
The Lady Tigers trailed 3-1 heading into the inning before coming out with a 9-3 lead after the top of the third inning as visitors in game two.
Choctaw County cut the lead to 9-6 with three runs in the fourth inning.
Both teams scored one run each in the sixth and seventh innings, but the Lady Tigers hung on for the win.
Guthrie took the win in game two going the complete game and allowing six hits, three earned runs, walked and struck out four and hit two.
Brundidge was 3-for-5 with a triple and one RBI.
Guthrie was 2-for-4 with a triple and Teralyn Moore was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
McFugerson was 2-for-3 with a triple, double and two RBIs.
Lee was 2-for-4 with one RBI and Hamric was 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Bostic was 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Flomaton 7
The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team got the monkey off their back earlier in the season against Flomaton as they ended a nearly five year losing streak to the Lady Canes.
Tuesday at home, the Lady Tigers finished off the sweep of the Lady Canes with an 8-7 win to improved to 16-3 overall this season.
The Lady Tigers went down 1-0 after the first inning of play and trailed 2-0 after the top of the third.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Tigers used a five-run inning to grab a 5-2 lead and extended their lead to 7-2 after four innings of play with two runs in the fourth inning.
Flomaton cut the lead to 7-3 with a run in the fifth inning but the Lady Tigers responded with one run of their own in the sixth inning to go on top 8-3.
That one run in the sixth inning turned out the be the biggest run of the game as Flomaton used an inside-the-park grand slam to cut the Lady Tiger lead to 8-7 with one out and left two runners on base in the inning as T.R. Miller hung on for the one run win.
Taylor Guthrie earned the win on the mound as she went the complete game and allowed six hits, three earned runs, walked six and struck out three.
At the plate for T.R. Miller, Leah Brundidge was 1-for-2 and Natalie Neal was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs.
Guthrie was 3-for-4 with a homerun and two RBIs and Teralyn Moore was 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Emily Waters was 1-for-3 along with Audrey Hamric. Hamric had a double and one RBI in the win.

In the JV game, Flomaton and T.R. Miller tied 6-6 after five innings of play and Flomaton used an eight run top of the sixth to win 14-6.
The loss for the JV Lady Tigers ended their season with a 7-4 record.
T.R. Miller led 2-0 after the first inning only to see Flomaton tie the game at 2-2 with two runs in the second.
Flomaton then plated one run in the third while T.R. Miller scored three to go on top 6-3.
From that point, Flomaton would score three in the fourth inning to tie the game at 6-6 and eight in the sixth inning to get the win.
Laurel Billy took the loss on the mound for T.R. Miller going the complete game and allowing 11 hits, four earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
At the plate for T.R. Miler, Lauren Ward and Takeysia McFugerson were both 1-for-4 and Kelsey Thompson was 1-for-3 with a triple and one RBI.
Krystal Bell was 3-for-3 with a double and one RBI and Abbi Roberts was 1-for-3 with a double.
T.R. Miller committed 12 errors in the loss and left eight runners on base.
