Church’s Chicken in Brewton will be closed for at least the next week as employees work to clean up from an electrical fire at the Persimmon Street restaurant.
Brewton firefighters responded to a call at Church’s shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday.
Church’s Chicken manager Ed Wright said employees could see and hear some sparking.
Wright said smoke caused the most damage to the front of the restaurant.
Bob Saale, director of operations for Church’s, was at the building on Friday and he had nothing but praise for the fire department.
Wright said he expects the business will be back and running in 10 to 14 days.
Wright said employees will try to finish with the repair work and open as soon as they can. The restaurant will let customers know when it is back in business, he said.
