Without fear of state officials showing up, residents in Brewton and East Brewton areas have an opportunity to play a little bingo Saturday night.
In an effort to raise money to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event, The Brewton Standard’s Relay team will be hosting a benefit bingo event at the East Brewton Civic Center Saturday night.
Kerry Bean, publisher of The Brewton Standard and co-captain of the team, said the event gives area residents an opportunity to help fight cancer.
Lynn Crutchfield, team member, said the games will give players an opportunity to win a variety of prizes contributed by area merchants.
Prizes will be awarded for winners in each game with additional door prizes to be given away during the evening.
Players don’t have to worry about dinner plans for the evening. Bean said food will be available for sale by the team.
Crutchfield said the games also give families an opportunity to help fight cancer and have a good time in the process.
Area merchants who have made contributions for the event include Badcock Home Furnishings and More; Hog Heaven, Bonehead Boots, Southern Pine Electric Cooperative, Walgreen’s, George’s Barbecue; Georgia-Pacific, McDonald’s, Bracken’s Herrington’s the Florist, Merle Norman, The Oaks, Peach Chevrolet, Auto Zone, W.O.W. Wingery and Café, Danny Joyner, Premier Jewelry, Mary Kay (Sharon Peacock), Weaver’s, The Brewton Standard, Annette Crenshaw’s Southern Living at Home, South Alabama Gas, Hainje’s, Crutchfield Pest Control, Regions Bank, Sherwin Williams, Huddle House, Advance Auto Parts, Pizza Pro, Magnolia Superfoods, Jennifer Lambeth at Verobella Salon, B&W Auto Parts, The Changing Seasons, Nalty’s Seasonings, and Pepsi-Cola Bottling of Atmore.
Crutchfield said donations are still being accepted and can be donated until game time Saturday.
