Jefferson Davis Community College Student Government Association held its third Best Cake in Town on April 16, at the ATN building on the Brewton campus.
There were 23 cakes entered in this year’s contest. According to Maurice Moore, director of Campus Life, this year’s turnout was less than last year, but still strong.
Best all around cake was won by June Adams and was a Lemon Cheese while the People’s Choice was won by Casey Minchew with a dirt cake.
Other winners were Misti Nims for originality with her chocolate pound cake with raspberry filling; Jane Louise Johnson with her butter pecan cake for taste; Mary Ann Bradley for texture with her 7up cake; and Tim Salter for best presentation with his iced poundcake.
